  • REUTERS AND VNU BUSINESS MEDIA COLLABORATE WITH COMPREHENSIVE ENTERTAINMENT NEWS PACKAGE


    (October 21, 2002 - New York) - Reuters (NASDAQ:RTRSY), the global information, news and technology group, today announced an exclusive agreement with VNU Business Media, one of world's leading media and information companies and publisher of The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard and Back Stage, and producer of the industry's leading trade shows, ShoWest, Show East, CineAsia and Cinema Expo International, to become the sole provider of entertainment content for Reuters comprehensive, real-time entertainment news service.

    Available April 2003, the Reuters VNU Entertainment News Service will combine the wealth and breadth of Reuters reporting with the entertainment reporting from three of VNU's premier publications, The Hollywood Reporter, Billboard and Back Stage, for 24/7 content in real-time. The service will include more immediate top daily entertainment stories, expanded film and television coverage, inside and in-depth industry reporting, enhanced music and stage reporting and expanded reviews.

    Moreover, subscribers will have access to Billboard's popular Charts, which are based on sales figures and airplay figures for albums, singles and videos in addition to other measurement data such as movie box-office, live events, theatre, TV and web traffic.
