American International Group Inc. is nearing the sale of its Japanese headquarters for approximately $1 billion to a Japanese insurance company, Reuters reported. The sale will help AIG to pay off its U.S. government debt. Reuters also reported that the sale of the firm's airplane leasing business, International Lease Finance Corp., may also be imminent.
