Northmarq Continues Expansion with New Seattle Office

Commercial real estate mortgage banker NorthMarq Capital has opened a new office in Seattle. The expansion comes two months after opening another new office in San Diego. The Seattle office will be staffed by seven former executives of Capmark Financial Group, including Ron Peterson, Bob Spiro and Stuart Oswald. Peterson has 24 years of experience in originating multi-family and commercial real estate loans with Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, banks, life insurance companies and conduits. Spiro has originated debt and equity for 26 years with life companies, agencies, banks and HUD. Oswald has arranged financing for life insurance companies, banks, conduits, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA/HUD for 15 years. Speaking about the firm's expansion in the face of the industry and economy's current downturn, Northmarq CEO Ed Padilla said "We see this as a golden opportunity...to enhance our market position in an era of challenging business coniditons." He added that the Northmarq plans "to come out of this recession with a stronger company."
