American Express | "Good Karma"
June 16, 2003
Ogilvy & Mather/New York
A laid-back and Zen-like Phil Jackson, dressed in T-shirt and shorts, enters a convenience store and purchases a number of items, including four instant-scratch lottery tickets. The first three are winners. Can the coach of the Los Angeles Lakers score four in a row? Graphic: "American Express is the card of starting over." (And the official card of the NBA.) Don't know why Phil would use his Amex to buy a few bucks worth of stuff, but the ad still feels authentic.
