In the anti-tobacco category, it's hard to know what advertising actually reaches teenagers. However, as the mutant X-Men rake in box-office dough, Best Spots thinks Buttman has a shot. In this funny spot, he is described as "a zero, America's most pathetic superhero." Buttman (is that you, Philip Seymour Hoffman?) realizes he needs a job to finance his unhealthy habit. "Cigarettes are expensive," he says, "so even a superhero has to work." The jobs come and go: short-order cook (he coughs in the food) and gas-station attendant (he smokes near the working pumps). Buttman even dumps his ashes into the coffee cup of a prospective employer. VO: "Can anybody tell why smoking isn't stupid?" Teenagers might listen to the financial argument -- cigarettes cost a lot of money -- and they will take note of the coolness issue. No kid wants to be a dorky spaz.
